A mini 'minigun'.
The Castaway originated from a minigun. It’s slowly been shrunk down 6 inches at a time, until landing on a perfect size range: 6’2-6’6.
The Castaway is a board bulked up with an immense amount of foam that allows you to paddle in early, set your line, and get barreled.
Think of any wave that has a ledgy barrel, and imagine a board that can get you to your feet behind the lip before it even throws over.
They are generally ridden with an upright fin and paired with a heavy set of kahunas.
They tend to be glassed heavy for maximum strength.
